3 Day First Aid at Work Training Course

First Aid at Work training (FAW) enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who becomes ill or is injured whist at the workplace. It also equips the first-aider to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illnesses. Our first aid course is aligned to current guidelines published by the Resuscitation Council (UK). Course content
Practical and theoretical first aid training course covering:
- Responsibilities/role of the first aider
- Assessment of the situation
- Preventing cross infection
- First aid kits/equipment
- Accident recording/reporting
- Resuscitation/CPR
- Safe use of an AED
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- First aid treatment for:
- Choking
- Bleeding
- Burns
- Shock
- Epilepsy
- Injuries to bones, joints and muscles
- Suspected head and spinal injuries
- Chest injuries
- Eye injuries
- Sudden poisoning
- Anaphylaxis
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Heart attack
- Angina
- Stroke
Minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment. A student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.

Really well delivered Emergency at work first aid course, I have been on lots of these courses over the years but it was my colleagues first time, Silvana made sure to find out what our levels of training were and any experience we had had of implementing first aid over the years.
With the group we had there was a lot of comments and Silvana listened and advised on how changes in legislation would impact what we can now do dependant on training. We were all at ease, the course was broken down into manageable sections and plenty of time was provided so that Silvana could check our understanding and ability to put into practise the things we had learnt. I left the course feeling that I had a better knowledge of emergency first aid at work and confident I would know how to put into practise the lessons learned.
The course was held in a lovely room that made learning more comfortable and was excellent value for money.
